Product Description
This part number upgrades a Colortrac Gx+42m scanner to a Gx+42c scanner.
The Colortrac Gx+42 large format scanner was sold in three feature levels which can be upgraded in the field through software:
| Gx+42m or Gx+T42m | The 'm' indicates that this is a monochrome scanner. It will scan black and white or grayscale only. It can be upgraded to a 'c' or 'e' model which will scan in color. Click here if you want to upgrade your Gx+42m scanner to a Gx+42e scanner. |
| Gx+42c or Gx+T42c | The 'c' indicates that this is a color scanner. It will scan black and white, grayscale or color. The maximum scan speed in color is 1 ips (inches per second) for scanners made before 2011 and 2 ips for scanners made in 2011 or later. It can be upgraded to an 'e' model which can scan in color faster. Click here if you have a Gx+42c scanner and want to make it a Gx+42e scanner. |
| Gx+42e or Gx+T42e | The 'e' indicates that this is an enhanced color scanner which can scan in color at a higher speed than the 'c' model. The maximum scan speed in color is 4 ips. This scanner is at the highest feature level and cannot be upgraded. |
To upgrade the scanner, you need to download and run the upgrade request program. Click here to download the upgrade request program. This will generate a text file that you will send to us. In about a day or two, we will send back a compressed file with a program. Decompress the file into an empty folder. Run the program and restart the scanner. The scanner will be upgraded. It is that simple.
